Pavilion Energy's bunker vessel, Brassavola, supplied an LNG stem to the Mount Api, a dual-fuel bulk carrier chartered by Rio Tinto.

The company is already seeing healthy LNG bunker demand in Singapore, Pavilion Energy’s divisional head of Singapore said. In addition to barge deliveries, they also supply LNG by trucks.

Built by the Singapore-based shipbuilding firm – Seatrium – the Brassavola is Singapore’s first membrane LNG bunker vessel. It was delivered in January to Indah Singa Maritime – a wholly-owned subsidiary of Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL).

The Brassavola wassubsequently chartered by Pavilion Energy to supply LNG at the Port of Singapore. The vessel has a bunkering rate of up to 2,000 cbm/hour.

LNG sales in the port of Singapore rose by a massive 581% in 2023, according to figures released by the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA). Around 300 mt/day of LNG was sold in 2023, climbing from just 50 mt/day in 2022.
