Peninsula delivers B30 blend in Gibraltar

Global marine fuel supplier Peninsula has delivered an unspecified quantity of B30 biofuel blend to Hercules Tanker Management’s (HTM) vessel in the Gibraltar Strait.

The B30 blend comprises 30% bio-component blended with conventional marine fuel.

The biofuel blend was supplied to HTM’s chemical tanker Mount Kibo by Hercules Sky, an IMO Type 2 chemical tanker operated by Peninsula.

This marked the “first biofuel supply to the HTM fleet,” the company announced in a social media post.

HTM added that the delivery supports its efforts to comply with the EU's FuelEU Maritime regulation.

HTM is a shipping venture spun off from Peninsula.
