The company delivered B24 marine biofuel - a blend of 24% used cooking oil methyl ester (UCOME) and 76% VLSFO. The biofuel stem was delivered by its bunker tanker Hercules Sky and has been certified by the International Sustainability & Carbon Certification (ISCC).
In April, the Hercules Sky was added to Peninsula's bunker delivery vessel fleet in Gibraltar, to supply bunker fuel grades including biofuel blends in the region.
“The growing demand for biofuels in the Mediterranean reinforces the company’s decision to add the product to its range of marine energy solutions,” Peninsula said in an email statement.
