This delivery marked Singapore-based shipping company Pacific International Lines' (PIL) first LNG bunkering operation at Shanghai’s Waigaoqiao port in China.

The container vessel Kota Ocean received around 4,300 cbm of LNG from SIPG Energy, a wholly owned subsidiary of Shanghai International Port Group.

The vessel carried out simultaneous LNG bunkering and cargo operations at Mingdong Terminal between 4–5 May, the company said.

Kota Ocean is one of eight LNG dual-fuel vessels in PIL’s fleet, as the company continues its fleet modernisation efforts and works toward its goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.
