Total energy products’ throughput at the Scandinavian Port of Gothenburg increased by more than 10% to 5.1 million mt in the first quarter of the year.

Volumes were comparatively higher than the corresponding period last year, when the port handled a throughput of 4.6 million mt. Energy products' throughput was relatively lower in Q1 2023 due to planned maintenance shutdowns at refineries.
The Port of Gothenburg’s total container throughput surged by 8% to 242,000 TEU in the first quarter of 2024. This marked the highest container volume handled by the port on a quarterly basis, the port authority said.
This was mainly because of a surge in both imports and exports in the first quarter of this year.
