PowerCell secures RINA approval for hydrogen fuel cell marine system

Swedish hydrogen fuel cell manufacturer PowerCell has received approval from classification society RINA for its hydrogen fuel cell marine system, according to the company’s senior vice president and chief tech officer Andreas Bodén.

The fuel cell system can deliver 225 kilowatt (kW) of power for propulsion and auxiliary applications.
In June, PowerCell secured a contract to supply hydrogen fuel cell marine systems for two liquid hydrogen-powered cargo ships to be built by Norway's LH2 Shipping.
