Red Sea: More commercial vessels come under Houthi attack
Iran-backed Houthis fired three anti-ship ballistic missiles (ASBMs) towards commercial vessels transiting the Red Sea on Friday, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) said.

The Yemen-based militants launched the missiles toward MV Maisha, an Antigua/Barbados flagged, Liberia-operated cargo vessel, CENTCOM said.
Another UK-owned, Seychelles-operated, and Panama-flagged cargo vessel, MV Andromeda Star, also came under attack on the same day, CENTCOM said.
“MV Andromeda Star reports minor damage, but is continuing its voyage,” CENTCOM said.
ASBMs are drones that the Houthis have been using to attack commercial vessels in the Red Sea.
The Yemeni militia’s spokesperson Yahya Sare’e claimed the attack on social media platform X (formerly Twitter).
Ongoing attacks in the Red Sea have raised geopolitical tensions and contributed to supply concerns in the global oil market.
