The Russian government has made some amendments to its temporary export ban, lifting restrictions on bunker fuel sales, according to a government document released today.

On Thursday, the Russian government imposed a temporary restriction on gasoline and diesel exports in an effort to stabilise supply in its domestic market. The decision was taken to control rising domestic gasoline and diesel prices, which have touched record highs in recent months, Russian state media agency TASS reported last week.

This move is unlikely to have any impact on global bunker supply as several major bunker suppliers and buyers have already stopped relying on Russian bunker fuels since Russia invaded Ukraine in February 2022.
