The Biofuel Company of Saudi Arabia (TBFCO) plans to work with local bunker suppliers in Qatar to arrange physical deliveries of 100% biofuel (B100) to vessels at Qatari ports, a company spokesperson told ENGINE.

TBFCO recently signed an exclusive partnership agreement with Qatari consultancy Kingdom Konsult to introduce B100 to the country's domestic market.

The companies plan to supply pure biofuel to several industries, including the marine and other transport sectors.

“We have been fortunate to be able to bunker pure B100 in marine vessels in Saudi Arabia… so yes, the bunker industry is absolutely one of the industries we are very keen to support,” the TBFCO spokesperson said.

Kingdom Konsult will offer logistical support in Qatar, while the partners will work with local bunker suppliers for “any final mile, VLSFO blending [for non-B100 grades] and quality inspections,” the spokesperson added.
