The 7,600 cbm-capacity vessel, Seaspan Garibaldi, is currently en route to Vancouver to load LNG cargo before performing its first ship-to-ship bunkering in Long Beach on the West Coast, Seaspan said in a LinkedIn post.
The vessel will supply LNG to ships along the North American west coast.
The Seaspan Garibaldi is the first in a series of three LNG bunker vessels owned by Seaspan. A second LNG bunkering vessel, the Seaspan Lions is set to join Seaspan’s bunkering fleet soon.
In July, Seaspan launched its third LNG bunkering vessel, the Seaspan Baker, to be delivered in 2025.
