Bunker supplier Shell has added Spain’s Port of Valencia to its LNG bunkering network, following the successful completion of its first LNG bunkering operation at the port.

Shell carried out the operation just outside the Port of Valencia in July. LNG bunker vessel Alice Cosulich supplied an undisclosed amount of LNG to the MSC Sabrina, which was sailing from the Mediterranean to Brazil, according to Spotbarge founder Sebastian Kosman.

In May, the Board of Directors of the Port Authority of Valencia (APV) granted LNG bunkering permits to Shell and Axpo Iberia.

The addition of Valencia strengthens Shell’s LNG bunkering network and expands its LNG supply capabilities across the Mediterranean.
