Shipping operations in Antwerp resume partially after acid leak accident
Shipping operations is permitted throughout the port area on the left bank in Antwerp, after an acid leak on a cargo ship disrupted operations in the port.

On Tuesday, a container of hydrofluoric acid was damaged and began leaking onboard cargo vessel Mia Summar II in the Deurganck Dock area.
Several workers became ill due to the incident and were evacuated to various hospitals.
Shipping traffic was suspended temporarily due to the incident in the affected areas.
On Wednesday, all terminals have been cleared to resume operations by the fire service, except for the MPET terminal, which remains closed.
Specialist teams are working to remove the container from the ship safely.
