Singapore conventional bunker sales declined 6% in August
Less HSFO and VLSFO sales contributed to drag the port’s total bunker sales 6% lower in August than in July.

Changes in bunker sales from July to August:
- Total sales down 272,000 mt to 4.19 million mt
- VLSFO sales down 154,000 mt to 2.51 million mt
- HSFO sales down 91,000 mt to 1.39 million mt
- MGO sales down 27,000 mt to 283,000 mt
The port's combined conventional bunker sales fell on a daily average basis, from 144,000 mt/day in July to 135,000 mt/day in August, according to preliminary figures from the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore. At 1,202 mt, the average stem size was 68 mt smaller than in July.
In August, 3,483 vessels called to bunker in Singapore, a drop of 28 from July.
MGO sales declined 9% on the month in August, while VLSFO and HSFO sales fell by 6% each.
Meanwhile, total bunker sales across the first eight months of this year were 2% higher compared to the same period last year. This is primarily because 12% more vessels arrived for bunkers in the first eight months of the year than last year.
