Singapore conventional bunker sales dipped 2% in November

Fewer vessels arrived for bunkers in November and VLSFO and MGO sales declined on the month.

Changes in bunker sales from October to November:

  • Total sales down 106,000 mt to 4.20 million mt
  • VLSFO sales down 177,000 mt to 2.34 million mt
  • HSFO sales up 91,000 mt to 1.54 million mt
  • MGO sales down 19,000 mt to 314,000 mt


Singapore’s VLSFO sales fell by 7%, while total MGO sales declined 6%. On the other hand, HSFO sales in the port grew by 6% on the month, according to preliminary figures from the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore.

In November, 3,404 vessels called to bunker in Singapore, a significant decline of 138 from October. However, at 1,234 mt, the average stem size was slightly larger than 1,216 mt in October.

The port's total bunker sales across the first eleven months of the year were 6% higher compared to the same period last year.

  • 7% MGO (7% YTD)
