Singapore conventional bunker sales fell 8% in February
With fewer vessels arriving to bunker in the shorter month of February, total bunker fuel sales at the Port of Singapore dropped by 8% compared to the previous month.

Changes in bunker sales from January to February:
- Total sales down 343,000 mt to 4 million mt
- VLSFO sales down 366,000 mt to 2.07 million mt
- HSFO sales down 31,000 mt to 1.62 million mt
- MGO sales up 55,000 mt to 315,000 mt
Total bunker sales in Singapore fell from 4.35 million mt in January to around 4 million mt in February, reaching their lowest level since June 2023, according to preliminary data from the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore.
The number of vessels calling for bunkering dropped significantly to 3,075 in February, 505 fewer than in January and the lowest since February 2023. Despite the decline in total sales, the average stem size increased by 88 mt from January, reaching 1,302 mt.
Sales of VLSFO and HSFO fell by 15% and 2% month-on-month in February, respectively, while MGO sales surged by 21%.
Overall, bunker sales for the first two months of the year were 10% lower than during the same period last year.

Fuel grade share of total sales in February (compared to year to date):
- 52% VLSFO (54% YTD)
- 41% HSFO (39% YTD)
- 8% MGO (7% YTD)
