Singapore conventional bunker sales inched up by 2% in October

November 17, 2025

Higher vessel arrivals for bunkering, along with increased VLSFO and MGO sales, lifted the port’s total bunker sales in October.

Changes in bunker sales from September to October:

  • Total sales up 97,000 mt to 4.69 million mt
  • VLSFO sales up 83,000 mt to 2.43 million mt
  • HSFO sales down 6,000 mt to 1.87 million mt
  • MGO sales up 20,000 mt to 394,000 mt

In November, Singapore’s MGO sales rose 6% and VLSFO sales increased 4%. HSFO sales were roughly unchanged from September.

The port supplied bunkers to 3,753 vessels, up by 235 from 3,518 in September, based on preliminary figures from the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore. Despite this increase in vessel calls, average daily sales fell to 1,250 mt, down from about 1,300 mt in September.

Total bunker sales for the first ten months of the year remained broadly in line with the same period last year.

Fuel grade share of total sales in October (compared to year to date):

  • 52% VLSFO (52% YTD)
  • 40% HSFO (40% YTD)
  • 8% MGO (8% YTD)
