Singapore conventional bunker sales slips 4% in January
Lower sales of VLSFO and MGO led to a 4% decrease in the port's total bunker sales in January compared to December.

Changes in bunker sales from December to January:
- Total sales down 239,000 mt to 5.12 million mt
- VLSFO sales down 270,000 mt to 2.56 million mt
- HSFO sales up 42,000 mt to 2.16 million mt
- MGO sales down 10,000 mt to 404,000 mt
Singapore’s VLSFO sales declined 10% month-on-month, while total MGO sales edged down by 2%. In contrast, HSFO sales increased by 2% compared to December levels, according to preliminary data from the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore.
The port supplied bunkers to 3,778 vessels, up by 57 from 3,721 in December. Despite the rise in vessel calls, average daily sales slipped to 1,360 mt from around 1,440 mt in December.
Even so, total bunker sales in the first month of the year were 18% higher than in the same period last year.

Fuel grade share of total sales in January:
- 50% VLSFO
- 42% HSFO
- 8% MGO
