Singapore’s bio-bunker and LNG sales rebound in February
Singapore sold nearly 3,300 mt/day of bio-bunkers in February, a significant leap from around 1,900 mt/day in January, according to preliminary figures from the port authority.

Changes in Singapore alternative fuel sales from January to February:
- Bio-VLSFO sales up from 46,000 mt to 77,000 mt
- Bio-HSFO sales steady at 14,000 mt
- B100 sales up from nil to 1,300 mt
- LNG sales up from 43,000 mt to 59,000 mt
- Methanol sales up from 300 mt to 6,000 mt
Singapore’s bio-blended bunker sales rose 52% in February to 91,000 mt.
Of this total, around 77,000 mt consisted of VLSFO blended with a bio component—typically 24% in Singapore—while about 14,000 mt was HSFO blended with biofuel.
For the January–February period, total biofuel bunker sales reached 152,000 mt, about 2.5 times higher than the 61,000 mt recorded during the same period last year.
After declining for three consecutive months, LNG bunker sales rebounded in February, rising by 39%. Average daily LNG sales increased by about 700 mt to 2,100 mt in February. For January–February, total LNG sales reached nearly 102,000 mt, up from 63,000 mt a year earlier.
B100 (100% biofuel) appeared in the sales data for the first time this year, with around 1,300 mt sold in February.
Meanwhile, methanol bunker sales were recorded for the second consecutive month, totaling around 6,000 mt in February, a sharp increase from 300 mt in January.
No ammonia bunker sales have been reported so far this year.
