Ammonia-ready means that the vessels have the option to be retrofitted for ammonia propulsion, the company said.
The first of six vessels – Bochem Houston – has been delivered by CMB's chemical tanker division Bochem to Stolt-Nielson under a long-term time charter and a vessel pooling agreement with the company.
CMB ordered six ammonia-ready 26,000-dwt chemical tankers from CMJL shipyard in China, including Bochem Houston.
The remaining five ships are expected to enter service within the next two years.
