Sunoil Biodiesel vessel successfully runs on B100

Biofuel producer Sunoil Biodiesel’s inland barge Birjo II has been operating successfully on B100, or 100% biofuel, since being converted to the fuel in May this year.

The conversion was carried out by Sunoil Biodiesel in collaboration with BFT Tanker Logistics.

“So far, everything is running quite well. The filter system is being monitored closely, and at this stage, the results are better than we had anticipated,” BFT Tanker Logistics’ general manager Johann de koning said.

The companies have not disclosed further details of the operation, including the volume of B100 supplied or the fuel supplier.
