Typhoon Krathon was located about 220 km southeast of Taiwan's southernmost point this morning, moving northwest. It is expected to make landfall in the major port city of Kaohsiung early Wednesday afternoon, then move across central Taiwan toward the northeast, exiting into the East China Sea, according to Taiwan’s Central Weather Administration (CWA).
The agency issued a land warning for the typhoon earlier this morning.
Bunker operations are likely to be halted across Taiwan for the next two days (1-2 October), according to a supplier.
In the Taiwanese ports of Hualien, Kaohsiung, Taichung, and Keelung, lead times for VLSFO and LSMGO have increased from 2-3 days last week to around 3-5 days.
