Ukraine hits oil refinery near Moscow
Ukraine's unremitting drone campaign has struck another oil refinery near Moscow, further escalating its offensive against Russia's vital energy hubs.

The ongoing cross-border strikes on critical energy infrastructure has casted a shadow over the recent de-escalation claims touted by US President Donald Trump earlier this week, proving that the war between Moscow and Kyiv rages on unchecked.
The latest drone strike has caused damages to a processing plant in the 300,000 b/d Yaroslavl oil refinery, Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on social media platform X, sharing a video footage of the fire.
The governor of the Yaroslavl region Mikhail Yevrayev confirmed the attack. “65 drones were shot down,” Yevrayev said on social media platform Telegram.
Situated about 321 km northeast of Moscow, the Yaroslavl refinery is co-owned by Russian energy firms Rosneft and Gazprom Neft.
The latest round of attacks comes as Russia prepares to extend its ban on diesel exports through the end of October, according to local media.
“There have also been good results in the Black Sea,” Zelenskyy said, as the Ukrainian army continues to target Novorossiysk and Tuapse – the two major Russian export hubs in the region.
Over the course of the war, Ukraine has repeatedly targeted these key export hubs, as well as Ust-Luga and Primorsk on the Baltic Sea.
The latest drone strike adds to the list of several attacks launched by Ukraine in recent weeks, as Kyiv presses its campaign against Russian energy infrastructure.
