Key executives of three major Greek shipping companies have been labelled “international sponsors of war” by the Ukrainian organisation War & Sanctions.
War & Sanctions launched an online portal in April last year, on which it names individuals and companies that continue to trade with Russia and have business interests with Russian firms. The portal is supported by the Ukrainian government and is monitored daily by the London Stock Exchange for possible new sanction additions.
In addition to the three Greek shipping firms, two Greek ship management firms and the Liberian International Ship & Corporate Registry are on the list.
Last year, Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy blasted Greek shipowners for supporting the war by shipping Russian oil.
