US crude stockpiles dropped

Commercial crude oil inventories in the US dropped by 846,000 bbls to touch 425 million bbls on 23 August, according to the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) released yesterday.

Refinery crude runs rose by 175,000 b/d as the country's refinery utilisation increased by 1 percentage point to 93.3% last week.
Gasoline stocks dropped by 2.20 million bbls over the week to 218 million bbls. It fell for the third consecutive week.
The distillate stocks rose by 275,000 bbls to 123 million bbls.
