Dutch bunker supplier Verde Marine Energy has added more bunker barges to its fleet, expanding its physical bunker operations in the ARA region.

The company has added barges to serve customers in Flushing, Ternuezen and Ghent, it said.

The company has also added a dedicated barge for HSFO supply.

This follows Verde Marine entering an agreement with U.S.-based bunker supplier Sunoco Marine in August to expand bunkering operations in the ARA and the UK.

The companies had said then that they would be adding barges, products and supply locations as part of the collaboration.

In June, Verde Marine had started supplying marine biofuels, including B100, in the ARA region. The company said that it has since then delivered thousands of metric tonnes of B100 across the region by barge and by truck.

An analysis of ENGINE’s fuel quality data showed last month that B100 bunkering had significantly picked up in Rotterdam this year, compared to 2025.
