Norway-based shipping firm Wallenius Wilhelmsen-operated vessel, M/V Tamesis, was bunkered with 400 mt of B24-VLSFO blend, comprising 24% biofuel and 76% VLSFO.

“In anticipation of growing demand for biofuel in the marine sector, we have begun storing biofuel at our oil terminal in Onahama (Fukushima Prefecture) and supplying B24 in Tokyo Bay using our barges,” Mitsubishi Corporation Energy said.

Wallenius Wilhelmsen has secured biofuel supply in Belgium, Korea and Singapore so far, and will focus on further expanding these locations to ensure a "sufficient" biofuel supply for its fleet, it said.
