Wison New Energies and H2Carrier partner to develop green ammonia FPSO
Chinese clean energy technology company Wison New Energies (Wison) has partnered with Norway’s H2Carrier to develop a 500-megawatts (MW) green ammonia FPSO (Floating Production, Storage and Offloading facility) in northern Norway.

An FPSO is a ship-shaped facility traditionally used to process, store, and offload oil and gas offshore. In this project, it will be adapted for green ammonia production.
Under the collaboration, Wison will contribute its expertise in engineering, procurement, construction, installation, and commissioning (EPCIC), while H2Carrier will provide its experience in floating hydrogen and derivative production, including ammonia.
The project is designed to lower the cost of producing and delivering green ammonia.
“Meaningful progress towards a net zero future depends on the renewable industry’s ability to produce clean fuels more cost effectively and more competitively compared to fossil alternatives,” Wison said.
