The MSC Tessa is the first in a series of 14 vessels that is being built for MSC.
The ultra large container ship can load and carry up to 24,116 TEU containers in one go. It is the first vessel with capacity to carry more than 24,000 TEU containers, breaking the record of Evergreen’s Ever Alot.
The ship is equipped with a hybrid scrubber that will allow it to burn HSFO.
The MSC Tessa is set to depart from China's port of Ningbo on 16 March and sail via Yantian and Shanghai to the ports of Rotterdam, Antwerp and Felixstowe, before heading back to Asia bound for Singapore, according to FleetMon vessel tracking.
