Its X-Press Feeder's first vessel to dock and refuel with bio-methanol in Singapore, X-Press Feeders said. The dual-fuel vessel, constructed by the Chinese New Yangzijiang Shipyard, is equipped with the German engine manufacturer's MAN dual-fuel engine. It is currently on its maiden voyage from Shanghai to Rotterdam.
Singapore-based container shipping firm X-Press Feeders collaborated with the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA), Singapore-based Global Energy Trading (GET) and the Port of Singapore Authority (PSA) for the operation.
The ISCC-certified bio-methanol supplied by methanol producer OCI Global was delivered using the bunker tanker Kara. The MPA also trialled a mass flow metering (MFM) system for methanol for the operation.
