Zhoushan bunker operations halted at outer anchorages amid typhoon threat

August 24, 2026

Bunker operations at Zhoushan’s outer anchorages, Tiaozhoumen and Xiazhimen, have been suspended since the weekend due to rough weather caused by three successive cyclones, a source said.

The back-to-back typhoons — Saudel, Narra and Gaenari — are forecast to affect large parts of China in the coming days, according to the Central Meteorological Observatory (CMA).

Typhoon Gaenari is expected to bring torrential rainfall to Fujian and Zhejiang provinces along China’s eastern coast, as well as Guangdong, the CMA said.

Meanwhile, bunker operations at Zhoushan’s Xiushandong and Mazhi inner anchorages remain unaffected.

The source added that there is currently no clear timeline for the resumption of operations at the affected anchorages.
