Zhoushan’s bonded bunker sales rose by 3% in 2024 - JLC

Bunker suppliers in Zhoushan sold approximately 7.26 million mt of bonded bunker fuel in 2024, a 3% increase from the previous year, market intelligence provider JLC reported, citing data from the China (Zhejiang) Pilot Free Trade Zone Management Committee.

This marks an “all-time high,” reinforcing Zhoushan's position as China's largest bunkering port, JLC claims.

The growth in bonded bunker fuel sales was driven by efforts made by the local government, which included expansion of anchorage areas and the addition of new enterprises to sell bunkers, JLC said.

Lead times for VLSFO in Zhoushan remain steady at 3-5 days, while LSMGO lead times have improved to 3-5 days from six days in the previous week. HSFO lead times are 4-7 days.

Bonded bunker fuel sales in Shanghai also reached a historic high in 2024. Suppliers in the port sold 4.16 million mt of bonded bunker fuel in 2024, an increase of 20.4% from the previous year, JLC reported with data from the General Administration of Customs.
