AIDA Cruises takes first biofuel bunker delivery in Rotterdam

The stem was delivered by the Dutch biofuel supplier GoodFuels to AIDA's passenger ship AIDAprima, which is currently cruising in western Europe.

Germany-based AIDA Cruises did not say disclose the ratio of biofuel to oil in the blend, but said biofuel is a part of the firm’s decarbonisation plan which also involves installation of fuel cells on another vessel, AIDAnova.

GoodFuels claims its biofuel can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 80-90% compared to fossil fuels.
