The deal will primarily focus on the development and promotion of carbon capture parts and equipment along with “procurement, construction and commissioning of carbon capture systems for applications at sea and on land.”
“This strategic partnership opens up new opportunities to develop solutions in the carbon capture and storage value chain,” says MISC president & chief executive Captain Rajalingam Subramaniam.
The agreement is part of a larger MISC-led exploration project that seeks to capture and store carbon in the maritime value chain. Japanese conglomerate Mitsui and South Korean shipbuilder Samsung Heavy Industries are involved in the project.
Harald Reissner, senior vice president at ANDRITZ Air Pollution Control, said that the project will offer solutions for carbon capture to the maritime industry.
