Axpo’s new LNG bunker vessel to start operations in Genoa

Axpo will deploy the vessel for physical deliveries along the Italian coast and across the wider western Mediterranean, the bunker supplier said.

The 7,500 cbm-capacity vessel Green Pearl is designed to carry out both ship-to-ship and ship-to-truck bunker operations.

Axpo has chartered the vessel on a 10-year basis from G&H Shipping, a joint venture between Italian firms Gas and Heat, San Giorgio del Porto and Sofipa.

The company currently offers LNG and liquefied biomethane (LBM) deliveries across the wider Iberian Peninsula, including ports in Spain and Italy. The addition of the new vessel strengthens its existing bunkering capacity in the Mediterranean, Axpo said.
