Typhoon Co-May, the eighth to affect China this year, re-intensified into a typhoon on Sunday night after briefly weakening into a low-pressure system. It is now approaching Zhejiang Province in eastern China and is expected to continue moving northwest toward the eastern East China Sea, gradually gaining strength, according to local authorities.
Currently, the Zhoushan port area is experiencing wind gusts of 21–26 knots and swells nearing one meter, both of which are forecast to intensify further by tomorrow.
Bunkering at Zhoushan’s inner anchorages, including Xiushandong and Mazhi, has been suspended since Thursday. Operations at the outer anchorages, Tiaozhoumen and Xiazhimen, were suspended earlier on Monday.
Most bunker suppliers expect to fully resume operations after July 30, another source said.
