Global marine fuel supplier Bunker Holding will supply green methanol in ports where it has physical operations and expects sufficient demand for the fuel. The firm currently operates in ports across 32 countries, either directly or through its subsidiaries, according to its website.

US-based renewable fuels firm SyntexNRG is currently reviewing several plant sites for this project along with its proposed hydrogen power plant in Clarksville, Arkansas.

"Clarksville [plant] is still in the mix for meeting our agreement with Bunker Holding to provide half a million tons [500,000 mt] of green methanol," the spokesperson said. This is an anticipated supply volume as specific details about the agreement are yet to be finalised, the spokesperson added.

"We do not expect our production to be limited to this initial agreement nor to facilities in the US," the SyntexNRG spokesperson said.

“Partnering with Bunker Holding, will allow us to look beyond the US and expand our reach to a global market," said Tom Waggoner, managing director and CEO of Syntex Industries. Syntex Industries is a subsidiary of SyntexNRG.
