Rose Cay Maritime has joined Carbon Sink as a logistics partner for all of its upcoming methanol plant projects. This includes transportation, bunkering and storage of e-methanol.
Maersk signed an offtake agreement with Carbon Sink last November. The Danish shipping giant agreed to purchase the entire production volume of 100,000 mt/year of e-methanol from Carbon Sink's debut facility in the US. The duo also plans to set up green methanol production plants across the US in the coming years.
According to Carbon Sink, there are currently 220 methanol-capable vessels in operation or under construction, indicating a total demand of more than 6 million mt/year of green methanol.
