Cargill debuts its first methanol-capable vessel

US-based food company Cargill has taken delivery of the first of five methanol-capable vessels it has chartered on a long-term basis.

The methanol-capable container ship, Brave Pioneer, could also be capable of running on ethanol in future, according to Anais Boulay, decarbonisation specialist at Cargill.
Cargill expects to take delivery of four additional methanol-capable vessels, although it has not confirmed the delivery timeline.
