China Marine Bunker takes delivery of methanol bunkering vessel

Petroleum products company China Marine Bunker (PetroChina) has taken delivery of a methanol bunkering vessel in Zhoushan.

The vessel, Zhong Ran Lv Neng 85, is a stainless-steel chemical tanker, and the first methanol bunkering vessel in China designed to operate across all domestic waters, according to the company.

The vessel’s entry into service is expected to further enhance China Marine Bunker’s green methanol bunkering capabilities, complementing its existing licences for green methanol bunkering operations in the ports of Shanghai, Ningbo and Shenzhen.

However, the company has not disclosed further details, including when the vessel will commence operations.
