China's SWS delivers sixth dual-fuel LNG-powered bulk carrier

Chinese shipbuilder Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding (SWS) delivered a new dual-fuel LNG-powered bulk carrier on 18 April.

The bulk carrier, Ubuntu Community is the sixth delivery in a series of 190,000-dwt bulk carriers built by SWS. It can run on both LNG or conventional marine fuels with the capability of sailing distances of almost 20,000 nautical miles.

The bulk carrier was delivered to Barney Shiptrade and it will be owned and operated under the Greek flag by Maran Dry Management (MDM), according to MDM's website.
