The final product was a marine B24 bio-blend, with biofuel produced by Verd, a Motor Oil subsidiary, and fossil fuel refined at Motor Oil's refinery, the company said in its LinkedIn post.
The biofuel was supplied to the container vessel Xin Lian Yun Gang, at the Piraeus Container Terminal, operated by COSCO. The bio-component in the biofuel supplied was not disclosed.
Coral said that the specific bio-blend can achieve approximately 21% lower CO2 emissions compared to conventional marine fuels.
Earlier this year, Coral Marine delivered its first biofuel stem to cruise ship Celestyal Discovery in the Port of Lavrio in Athens.
