JAX LNG, Pivotal LNG, and Seaside LNG carried out the operation using the bunker vessel Clean Everglades.

Bunkering was completed in approximately seven hours, and port authorities said it would be sufficient to power the cruise ship for a few weeks.

The vessel will also begin week-long cruises to the Caribbean and the Bahamas on 31 August.

LNG is considered one of the maritime industry’s most advanced fuel technologies. It is odorless, colorless, and typically considered more environmentally friendly.

According to DNV, 641 LNG-powered ships were in operation by the end of 2024, out of which currently only 29 are LNG-capable cruise ships.
