DNV approves three separate LNG concepts from GTT
The approvals cover two liquefied natural gas (LNG) dual-fuel vessel concepts and one LNG fuel tank with “ammonia-ready notation”, said French containment system specialist GTT.

GTT added that two LNG-powered dual-fuel vessel prototypes - a 5,500-cbm tanker and a 12,500-cbm very large crude carrier (VLCC) - were designed in collaboration with the Finnish ship designer Deltamarin.
Classification society DNV also granted approval in principle for the LNG fuel tank concept, which can be converted to an ammonia fuel tank in the future.
This provides "additional flexibility" for complying with potential environmental regulations, said GTT.
“These concepts build on LNG, which is already playing a key role in reducing shipping’s carbon emissions, while offering a path towards future fuels,” said DNV's chief executive, Remi Eriksen at the Nor-Shipping Exhibition in Oslo, Norway.
