ECT terminal in Rotterdam blocks container flow to Russia

The ban is only applicable on export and transhipment with destination Russia, while containers coming from Russia are not subject to sanctions.

The containers which are bound to Russia have been blocked by the customs authority and hence cannot be loaded, according to the statement issued by ECT.  

ECT is currently consulting with the customs authority to resolve possible restows of 'Russian' containers. Thus, enabling the discharge of import containers for Rotterdam which are stowed under 'Russian' containers, said in their statement.
