The deal is designed to ensure reliable gas supplies for the planned liquefaction and storage facility and to strengthen coordination between the petroleum sector and the SCA as they move through the procedures needed to launch construction.
The project has already undergone detailed evaluation with input from international partners in South Korea, working alongside Egypt’s ministry of Planning, Economic Development, and International Cooperation to secure the necessary backing to move it forward.
SCA chairman Admiral Ossama Rabiee added that the terminal will support the authority’s LNG-capable fleet, including tugboats and ferries.
