The first vessel is expected to be delivered by the third quarter of next year, and the last vessel by the second quarter of 2026. The first two of the new vessels are already under construction.

The latest order will take the company's total orderbook of the new-generation electric hybrid vessels to 12.

These vessels will feature battery packs and shore power connection.

AtoB@C claims these vessels can help reduce greenhouse gas emissions by almost 50% compared to the existing ships.

These vessels will be built by the Indian shipyard Chowgule & Company, from which the company has previously ordered seven identical electric hybrid vessels.

Finland-based ESL Shipping has teamed up with a group of investors to form a pool of low-emission vessels. AtoB@C Shipping will act as the manager of this ‘GreenCoaster’ pool.
