LNG cargo tanks onboard LNG bunkering vessels need to be cooled down to cryogenic temperatures, as LNG vaporises immediately if it is loaded into warm tanks. The storage tanks are cooled from normal temperature to cryogenic temperatures by spraying LNG on the spray nozzles of each storage tank.
The operation was carried out by FueLNG’s bunker vessel FueLNG Venosa on Pan Ocean's LNG bunkering vessel, New Frontier 2. The 18,000-cbm vessel is chartered to Shell LNG and will be deployed for LNG bunker operations in the US.
FueLNG addedFueLNG Venosa to its fleet in April.
In June, FueLNG Venosabunkered Singapore-based Eastern Pacific Shipping’s (EPS) 210,000-dwt bulk carrier, M/V Mount Tai, with 4,887 mt of LNG in Singapore - marking its first operation.
