As part of the project, onshore power units will be installed at two ferry berths in Trelleborg.
“A large part of the supplied energy in Port of Trelleborg will be produced through the port’s two wind turbines,” the port authority said.
Details about the shore power installation at Lübeck-Travemünde have not yet been disclosed.
This project contributes to developing a green shipping corridor in the Baltic Sea between Sweden and Germany, according to the Port of Trelleborg.
