Sinobunker's bunker vessel Daqing 268 supplied the methanol, of which 1,400 mt was bonded green methanol, Guangzhou’s port authority said.
That makes it the largest of three methanol stems Daqing 268 has delivered at Guangzhou since September.
It supplied around 1,000 mt of bio-methanol to a dual-fuel bulk carrier at the Lantau Anchorage, and 300 mt to a COSCO container ship at the same Nansha terminal last month.
The port authority said the latest operation makes it the only port in the world to have supplied green methanol to container ships, bulk carriers and car carriers.
Guangrong is a new large car carrier and the first methanol dual-fuel vessel of its type to call at the Nansha automobile terminal. Its engines cut sulphur oxides, particulate matter and nitrogen oxides (NOx) when running on methanol, the port authority said.
