Hapag-Lloyd to start deploying dual-fuel 23,500 TEU by 2023

The vessels can run on LNG and conventional fuels, LNG will not just power the engines but also the auxiliary machinery and boilers, says Hapag-Loyd.

German container shipping company had placed an order of 12 TEU vessels that are being built by South Korean shipyard Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering and expects the first vessel to be delivered from April 2023 while the rest of the deliveries are to be concluded by December 2024.
The vessels will be deployed on the Europe-Far East routes, says Hapag.
